Grant built his career in the corporate world over 30 years in various roles in operations and business development up to board level at a national trading company. In 2009, he took a complete change of direction to focus on supporting and encouraging businesses to become more purposeful and operate more responsibly.
He began by moving to the voluntary sector, where he gained a deep understanding of local social and environmental challenges, but significantly, the business enhancement opportunities these open up. To facilitate some of the solutions, he played a key role in developing two business networks that bring organisations together across sectors. He still volunteers to help one of these networks, and has a key role in another local responsible business network.
Grant has become closely engaged with Social Enterprise, jointly leading on a successful pitch for Oxfordshire to become the first Social Enterprise County. He supports social entrepreneurs to set up and grow through the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) Business Support programme, and OSEP (Oxfordshire Social Entrepreneurship Partnership).
The experience, expertise and passion has Grant developed, underpinned by the strong local and national networks, led him to establish Collaborent Ltd., He works with organisations in all sectors. Much of this is focused on identifying challenges and opportunities that can be solved by creating and facilitating powerful and mutually beneficial cross-sector collaborations.
As a B Leader, he is keen to work with like-minded people and businesses seeking ways to grow and enhance their organisations through the B-Corp movement and assessment process.
